Heather Lockwood Artist Statement
I imagine a space where people are surrounded by art and fully engulfed with color and thoughts.
A space where their day has been forgotten, a smile is on their face, and they are enjoying the people they are around. We gather for the love of art; we gather to enrich our lives. Why not gather to Play with our senses. We forget to Play. We run our days together using and waste materials. We run away from our problems. What if our problems were the art? What color would your art be?
Enjoy the playful, kid-like experience we have created. Lose yourself for a few hours. Use the materials and use your voice to communicate with each other. Open your hearts to the interlude of magic.
Abby Alzamora Artist Statement
I create unconventional art pieces through painting and collage. My collages are made by experimenting with gluing different objects together. I create these pieces in an attempt to shift the viewer's perspective on their relationship with everyday life. In a society where we are always trying to speed up, I strive to slow down and appreciate the people, places, and things that we are surrounded by.
